Friday, October 23 to Saturday, October 24 – Seattle to Bangkok
We depart for our Thailand adventure at 10:15 am Friday morning via town car leaving Erik Aagaard in charge of the house plant. An 11 hour flight lands us in Narita Airport, Tokyo with a brief layover that allows us time to grab some pork noodles and check out the green-tea flavored Kit-Kats. (Note to selves to pick some up for the girls on the way home). Back on a plane toward Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, our final airport – for the moment. After an eight-hour flight, we arrive on-time at about 10:00 pm.
We are exhausted but excited as we hop into a pristine Mercedes and allow them to drive us through the city to the Ariyasomvilla Hotel. We move from highway, to city streets, to a narrow side street with massage shops, a 7-11, funky hotels, food carts and small restaurants that dead ends at the gate to our hotel. We are welcomed, up-graded and walked to our suite, there are fresh fruits and a bowl of orchid blossoms on the coffee table. The suite is lovely, two levels, a living area with a luxurious bath and shower on the main floor then up the open stairs to a half floor with the bed. It is air conditioned and there is a fabulous mission control next to the bed that work all the lights and A/C. The pool glimmers out the window.
